OTHER INFORMATIONS ABOUT LUCA SALASNICH

I am very interested in

My hope is

I live in the center of the historical center of Padova (Padua), a nice medieval University town in northern Italy. Padova is the town where I was born, and I am quite proud of being able to come-back to my home town after many years of research activity in Madrid, Maribor and Milan.

Sometimes on holidays I visit my country house in the Euganean Hills. The Euganean Hills, just 20 km from Padova and visible from Venice, have been celebrated for their beauty, peace and harmony by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Francesco Petrarca (Petrarch) and many other poets.

I like very much theoretical issues, and so I spend a lot of time solving equations, running numerical codes and writing papers.
Pre-university education In addition, I received a (quite intense) catholic education at Chiesa di S. Nicolo of Padova, Basilica del Carmine of Padova, and Jesuit Center Antonianum of Padova. By the way, a cousin of my mother Giovanna Cocchi was Archbishop of Modena and Nonantola.
Football activity (1982-2005)

My high-school class, 1984. I am the one with ray-ban sunglasses.

A pics of me ... some years ago (1995).

In May 2016 the Department of Physics and Astronomy (DFA) won the five-a-side football tournament of UNIPD. I am the fat guy with the cup. Behind me there is Rosario Rizzuto (Rector of the University of Padova).

In September 2016 there was a round table on the legacy of Enrico Fermi ("Enrico Fermi - Ieri, Oggi e Domani") organized by the Italian Physical Society (SIF) at the "Sala dei Giganti" of Raggia Carraresi (Padova). Meeting organized by Giulio Peruzzi. Speakers: Roberto Casalbuoni, Augusto Sagnotti, Luisa Cifarelli, Alessandro Bettini, and myself.

Here I show my best dress during a graduation announcement at Aula Rostagni of the Department of Physics and Astronomy "Galileo Galilei".

In September 2017 we organized "SuperFluctuations 2017" an International Conference on "Fluctuations and Highly Non Linear Phenomena in Superfluids and Superconductors" at San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy). From left to right: David Vitali, Luca Dell'Anna, Claudio Pettinari (Rector of UNICAM), myself, and Andrea Perali.

Teaching at the Master in "Comunicazione delle Scienze" (aula della Vigna, March 2018).

In December 2018 I was invited by Utpal Roy to the International Conference on Quantum and Atom Optics (ICQAO 2018) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, India. Inaugural speakers: Govind P. Agarwal, Prasanta K. Panigrahi, and myself.

In September 2019 I organized the international conference "SuperFluctuations 2019" with Andrea Perali and Luca Dell'Anna at the University of Padova. In the first photo there is the inauguration speech at the "Archivo Antico" of "Palazzo Bo" of the University of Padova given by myself, Francesca Soramel (Director of the Department of Physics "Galileo Galilei", Alessandro Paccagnella (vice-rector of the University of Padova), and Andrea Perali. In the second photo there are the participants of the conference, and in the third photo there are the three organizers.

In May 2022 there was a football match (8 vs 8) between the Department of Physics and Astronomy "Galileo Galilei" and the Department of Mathematics "Levi Civita" of UNIPD. The final results was 4 goals vs 3 goals, plus lots of postmatch beer.

In July 2022 there was the International Conference "Superfluctuations 2022" at the Department of Physics and Astronomy "Galileo Galilei" of the University of Padova. It was a nice event with both in-presence and on-line speakers.

Friendly football match (6 vs 6) after losing 20 kg.

Again with my best dress in a 2023 MSc graduation session.
